Yes, celebrating Love is a beautiful thing. However, I believe it is something that should be celebrated EVERY DAY of your life (not only once per year) in both small and grand gestures. Being romantic and expressing your love for someone should be a delightful act, and one that you shouldn't need a holiday to remind you to do. Whether it be your crush, child, partner, or mom; making someone smile uncontrollably and feel loved is one of the greatest accomplishments, and one I strive to meet every day.

A week ago on this past Valentine's Day I spent the first half of the day working, and upon arriving home after a beautiful walk in the sun, I was welcomed by a sweet surprise from my boyfriend Nick. A red rose wrapped in a love letter that had been typed on a typewriter, was waiting for me. I'm quite a sucker for romance in all aspects of my life, so of course it made a glowing smile grace my face without any pause at all.
Because of busy schedules and the lack of our attachment to this holiday, my partner and I didn't spend actual Valentine's day together. Instead, on Friday we did something much better!
Nick set up therapeutic floating sessions for us to experience together,
and I couldn't have been more excited and grateful!!
What exactly is therapeutic floating? Basically, you lay floating on your back in an isolation tank filled with 1000 pounds of epsom salt. This creates so much buoyancy it's impossible not to float. Ideally the room and water temperature are about the same, so while in the dark tank you feel as though you are floating in space with no gravitational pull. By shutting off your senses (not being able to see, hear, and preferably not moving around a whole lot) it is a perfect setting for the ultimate meditative, conscious state of mind. The experience was simply blissful, and we both walked away in a more relaxed, rejuvenated state. I would recommend this to anyone who is extremely stressed, experiencing body aches or muscle pains, having a hard time sleeping (you can actually fall asleep safely while floating), prone to anxiety, or anyone who is in search of gaining a higher spiritual relationship with ones self.
Below is the pamphlet from Float Om, where had our floating sessions. I would encourage you to check out their website or read up on the benefits of floating on your own.
